Please allow us to introduce you to the wonderful discipline of rock climbing. This course is based on the premise that thorough preparation is the key to enjoyment in the mountains. The two-day instructional programme is conducted at a sensible practice site of little exposure. The focus of this course is to provide ample practice and instruction without the distractions of excessive vertical relief. Each student will be provided with an understanding of the movement skills and rope handling required for efficient travel in the vertical world. Topics to be covered include: Equipment selections appropriate for the female physique, harness fitting and basic knots, terminology and communication, belaying, lowering, rappelling, movement skills, and most importantly, flattering hairstyles for use under a climbing helmet.
