April 1, 7 p.m. (Kick off) April 22, 7 p.m. (Clinic) May 12, 7p.m. (Wrap up) REI has teamed up with the HERA Foundation, and organization
dedicated to raising awareness and money for ovarian cancer research, to create
a month long fund raising climbing event.
Climbers can register at any of 6 REI locations, for a cost of $20, all proceeds
are donated to HERA. More money is raised by climbers getting sponsored and
travelling around to different REI stores and participating indoor gyms, where
they climb set routes and earn money on every foot climbed. Sponsors may also
make a flat donation. In addition, points are earned for climbers to win great
prizes from Black Diamond.
Anyone can participate and registration ends April 1. The event begins with a
kick-off party at the Fremont REI on April 1, cool swag and prizes
will be given out.
